2020 was a difficult year for all of us, but especially for entrepreneurs and small business owners. The Covid19 lockdown and continued restrictions on trading made for a very challenging business environment. Which is why it brings me great pleasure to share with you that one of my companies, NK Innovations, is a winner of the Top 20 South Africa Small Business & Entrepreneurship Award for 2020 - awarded by the National Small Business Council (NSBC) to showcase and celebrate entrepreneurial/business excellence in South Africa.
NK Innovations is a marketing & events agency based in Johannesburg but with a national footprint and multinational clients. The Covid19 lockdown threatened to shutdown our business but with sheer grit, determination and innovation we were able to turn the situation around as we pivoted the business to digital platforms and introduced new services to our clients. This award is testament to the hardwork and sacrifice myself and my partners have put into the business.
One of the mottos I live my life by is that "struggle is temporary but strong character is everlasting", 2020 was a year of struggle but more importantly a year of building strong character and it is this character that I will carry into 2021.
